Position Overview 

The Directional Drilling (DD) Coordinator is responsible for the mentoring and coaching Pacesetter’s directional drilling consultants to ensure they operate safely and effectively without incidents. The DD Coordinator is the liaison between Pacesetter and the customer at a field level; they are responsible for coordinating tools and personnel to the correct jobs in order to meet the identified well plans. The DD Coordinator will work closely with the Sales Team and Tool Coordinators to ensure profitability is maximized on all jobs through the correct application of our tools and processes.

Responsibilities

- Coach and mentor Pacesetter’s DD Consultants to achieve high performance and execution on jobs

- Coordinate the distribution of DD Consultants, equipment, supplies and third-party services to field operations with a strong focus on safe operations and execution to consistently meet customer expectations

- Support DD Consultants in field-based assignments by advising on technical issues and tool / BHA selection

- Provide technical expertise in BHA design and recommendations, including motor selection and configuration 

- Support the Sales Team by participating in pre-spud or well meetings; assist in the design of well profiles and drilling programs, promote Pacesetter’s technology and maintain positive relationship with clients

- Ensure accuracy of well data recorded by DD Coordinators in well files and liaise as required with Accounting and Sales Team to interpret the data 

- Participate in collection of detailed and accurate field data as required for incident review and provide technical feedback and recommendations on corrective measures as they apply to process and equipment 

- Evaluate the DD Consultants’ performance on a regular basis 

- Pre / post job briefing and reporting as required

- Support the training and development of all DD Consultants

- Participate in an on-call rotation to support Pacesetter’s 24/7 operations

- Update PRIME (Pacesetter’s internal proprietary system) with information collected from Company men / Sales Team 

- Assist Accounting Team in any billing / invoice discrepancies

- Field visits on a regular basis; champion safety procedures and processes in the field - Assist Motor Reliability Analyst with field data

Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications

- 5+ years’ experience as a Directional Driller

- 10+ years’ experience in oil and gas industry

- Exposure to all well profiles (build and hold, build and turn, horizontal wells, re-entry, sidetracks, whip stocks, etc.) 

- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
