Your Opportunity at SECURE
SECURE is seeking an experienced, safety minded Operator to support operations based in Fort McMurray on a rotational fly-in/fly-out basis. The Operator is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. The Operator is also expected to take part in general housekeeping of the site, including all associated equipment on the property. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.
This role will be a temporary contract ending on January 1, 2026.
A Day in The Life
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Operational of the panel and monitoring all the quality control cameras
- The use of loaders and other equipment for the loading and handling of materials
- Oversee process piping and pump monitoring
- Monitoring of process chemical mixing and hydration equipment, including sample collection and recording of process data
- Oversee Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTW) functions within the overall risk control framework
Additional responsibilities include:
- Operation of equipment while adhering to all safe work practices and procedures including loaders, and trucks.
- Working around bodies of water (tailings beach).
- Monitoring of plant equipment including gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly
- Performs troubleshooting and repair activities as needed
- Performs mechanical and/or equipment maintenance as required and/or assigned
- Maintains safe and clean equipment and general work area
- Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required with previous experience
- Drug, alcohol & fitness testing
- Minimum valid Class 5 Driver's license
- Valid H2S Alive ticket
- Ability to operate Heavy Equipment with various attachments
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, working in confined spaces and standing for an extended period of time
- Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and other troubleshooting knowledge is an asset
- A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
Please Note:
- Rotation – 14 days on/14 days off
- Applicants must be willing and able to work on a rotational work schedule, which includes fly-in & fly-out to site from Calgary or Edmonton.
