ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Grader Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of finishing experience in road construction and a strong understanding of crowns, slopes, drainage, and final grading.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Work with engineers and supervisors to ensure proper road alignment and drainage.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and project plans.

Follow safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating the equipment

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASK

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Education Preferred: Road construction or related field
Required Work Experience: Operate grading and paving machines
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license (Class 3 or higher preferred)
Required Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of crowns, slopes, and drainage principles
Travel Requirements:Frequent travel between job sites within the City of Calgary and surrounding areas
Additional Requirements:

Operate a motor grader to achieve precise road grades and slopes.

Perform finishing work, including final grading for road surfaces.

Inspect, maintain, and ensure the safe operation of equipment.

Experience with GPS-controlled grading systems is an asset.

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approvedPersonal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees thatare required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
