Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Technician Lead will be primarily responsible for a wide variety of responsibilities and tasks for the Management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities throughout shop while completing your own mechanical tasks
  • Provide exceptional on-the-job training to journey persons and apprentices
  • Uphold quality and safety system requirements
  • Work and coordinate directly with shop foreman to plan upcoming projects and daily activities
  • Report to Project Managers on actions &outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects
  • Ability toTroubleshoot, think outside the box
  • High attention to Detail
  • Ability to train and lead new hires and current employees to succeed
  • Must be able to take and give direction while working efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to follow procedures, inspect work that is being completed while ensuring compliance with Care’s Safety and Regulations

Requirements:

  • Journey persons Certificate – as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright
  • CVIP License is an asset but not required
  • Mechanical experience with oilfield equipment is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Air Brakes, Hydraulics, Electrical Systems
  • Previous leadership experience

Required education level

  • Trade certificate
