Our growing company is currently looking to hire 4th Year Apprentices & Journeyman Electricians to join our Maintenance team, based out of our Medicine Hat office.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil and Gas industry, a safety conscious mentality and are willing to learn and grow within CDN.

AS OUR ELECTRICIAN, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO: 

  • Adhere to all company environmental, heath, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete cutting, threading, bending, and assembling rigid, aluminum and conduit systems.
  • Install and maintain EMT and PVC piping systems, batteries, solar panels, voltage regulators, MCC equipment, heat trace, and VFD’s.
  • Assist and/or direct interpreting drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to better help execute electrical installation and troubleshooting.
  • Understand and inter-operate the most current Canadian electrical code book and exercise the rules when applicable. 
  • Understand and execute basic circuit fundamentals, alternating current circuit properties, heating and cooling systems, magnetic control and switching circuits, three phase systems, transformers, machines, control and switching/PLC, fire alarm systems, red seal programs, industry network, and applications of electronics.
  • Test electrical equipment and components for current, voltage and OHMS.
  • Responsible for all administrative, material ordering, and QAQC documents directly associated with the project at hand.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

  • Red Seal Journeyman Electrician or 4th Year Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
  • High Voltage experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required prior to employment.
