The Opportunity:
The Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic will report directly to the Manager, Maintenance. The primary function of this position is to address mechanical issues and conduct preventative maintenance on all components of Sanjel Energy equipment. Seeking Journeymen with CVIP experience and current License. Red Seal required. Exceptional 4th year apprentices would be considered.
General Responsibilities:
- Work alongside a team of mechanics, prioritizing daily tasks to ensure the efficient operation within the facility; fosters a culture of dedicated Safety and teamwork
- Perform regularly scheduled CVIP inspections, and other assigned fleet maintenance tasks and duties
- Complete refurbishments and updates to existing Sanjel equipment
- Gain working knowledge of Sanjel's equipment
- Check equipment for proper performance
- Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
Qualifications:
- Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate with Inter-provincial Red Seal
- Current CVIP License with direct CVIP experience is required
- Strong 4th year apprentices would be considered
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pumps, electrical skills, mechanical assembly etc.
- Mechanical training in the oilfield industry (field experience) an asset
- Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
- Thorough safety knowledge and practice
- Driven, engaging individual who is a team player and can offer strong problem solving skills
- Candidates with Military/Canadian Armed Forces experience are encouraged to apply
