Overview
Lafarge is recruiting for a Millwright at our Exshaw AB cement plant. Millwrights are responsible for ensuring both breakdowns and planned maintenance on a variety of equipment and are completed in an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly way. The capacity to work in the Millwright environment. (confined space, working at heights patciles, equipment – shiftwork as required, perform housekeeping duties as required.) A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.
Responsibilities:
The Millwrights at the Lafarge Exshaw Cement Plant perform planned and break down maintenance on a variety of equipment including (but not limited to):
- Large roller supported Rotary Cement Kilns
- Ball mills 13' diameter by 37' long
- Vertical roller mills
- Large gearsets, up 25' diameter pinion driven, spring and flange mounted.
- Hazemag 3.5 meter wide Impact crusher, Nordberg and Clemro Jaw Crusher
- Fans from 1/4 Hp up to 3500 Hp, Blowers, wet and dry screw compressors, Sliding vane compressors.
- Belt conveyors, bucket elevators, pneumatic conveyors, air gravity conveyors, drag conveyors, screw conveyors.
- Service and repair gearboxes, clutches, pumps, and vibrating screens.
Tools and equipment used include:
- Light mobile equipment such as pickup trucks forklifts, rough terrain forklifts, mobile elevated work platforms.
- Hand and power tools for fasteners up to 6" in size, hydraulic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, hoisting and rigging equipment both hand and power operated.
- Rigid pipe threaders, tube and conduit benders, bearing pullers.
- Some computer use required in the Maximo maintenance software.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirement:
- Alberta certified Journeyman Millwright or Inter provincial Red Seal
Specific Experience:
- Experience working with large industrial equipment
- Ability to perform the work, the applicant must:
- Have combination or education, training and/or other experience to competently perform the require work.
- Competent operating a motor vehicle.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Competent with computer and emails.
- Have numeracy skills.
- Have document comprehension skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with others
Working Environment:
- The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as extreme heat and dust in certain parts of the plant. It may involve working at height, confined space, rail yard repairs, and cutting and welding.
