Overview

  • As a member of the Caledon site team, maintenance involves the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Maintain environmental sustainability in the site operation.

Heavy Mobile Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

  • Ensure assigned equipment is operated to OEM guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Ensure that product outputs meet material quality specifications.
  • Complete, review, and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual equipment operation reports and metrics.
  • Ensure that the equipment cab and exterior is kept presentable and functional.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.

Maintenance:

  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand
  • and power tools.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Other:

  • Carry out cleaning tasks around the plant, site and shop as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.

Relationships with Others Jobs:

  • Reports to the Site Supervisor.
  • This position requires extensive liaison with the plant / equipment operator(s).

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience:

  • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Heavy mobile equipment operation / training is an asset

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Reliable
  • Interpersonal skills
