
Manager, Sales & Performance
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Petroleum Sales,the Manager, Sales & Performance is accountable for the management of an outbound sales team focused on petroleum sales, including fuel and lubricants. This role ensures disciplined execution of sales processes aligned with a targeted customer plan and is accountable for achieving annual goals for sales growth, Gross Margin, and EBITDA in the target area. In full collaboration with the Sr. Manager and Chief Sales Officer, the Manager Sales & Performance will drive business growth through effective sales leadership and performance management.
This position can be located in either Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, or Saskatoon.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sales planning, strategy, forecasting, and market analysis.
- Apply strong business and financial acumen to manager margin and profitability.
- Manage pipeline conversion rates to optimize sales outcomes.
- Sets clear sales goals, monitors sales progress and follow through against targets.
- Implement and track a customer-based business plan, including developing an annual customer plan, sales forecasting and tracking, Demonstrates price stewardship and customer service.
- Uses data and analytics to drive and track team and individual performance.
- Maintain focus on volume targets across fuel and lubricant categories.
- Coach and develop team members through feedback, performance plans, and skill-development.
- Motivate and inspire team to exceed targets through celebrating wins, recognition and incentives.
- Ensure adherence to established processes, including CRM best practices and performance management.
- Influences cross functional teamwork to achieve sales goals.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business or commerce preferred or a combination of education and experience, with a strong knowledge of the petroleum sector, specifically fuel & lubricants.
- Minimum 5 years proven experience selling fuel, lubricants services and solutions to clients.
- Previous sales management experience is preferred.
- Experience within a results-oriented Business to Business (B2B) environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude and capability for growing revenues and market share in the petroleum industry.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Strong people management and communications skills.
- Willing to travel 30% or more across Western Canada.
This is a safety sensitive position as it will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
