Material Planner

The purpose of the position is to place orders for raw and intermediate use products for use in manufacturing. Ensure we are maintaining proper levels of inventory of each material and do not have deficits of material when needed to meet our customers’ expectations.

What will you do:
- Run MRP and determine when and how much material to order.
- Place purchase orders against vendors.
- Place stock transfer orders against internal source plants
- Update inbound bulk delivery shared calendar as needed.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of each material (Days on hand inventory)
- Monitor fluctuations in inventory or demand and adjust order planning as needed (Avoid E&O, stranded inventory).
- Produce reports and maintain electronic databases (inactive inventory, DoH, supplier list, material shortages, etc.).
- Participate in completion of corporate objectives (OGSM)
- Calculate and track savings.
- Participate in 5S and TPM initiatives.
- Utilize APOC to code and approve invoices.
- Follow up on delivery of purchased goods and enter confirmations in purchase orders and STO’s.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Create and lead initiatives on materials project to reduce cost or improve efficiency.
Position Details:
- Candidate must reside in Leduc, AB or the surrounding area.

- This position works Monday to Friday.
- This position is a safety-sensitive role and pre-employment medical testing will be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- 0-2 years’ experience in manufacturing or planning roles
- New graduates encouraged to apply.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access database
- Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritization.
- Good oral and written communication skills, will be required to work with vendors, carriers, internal customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP experience and/or knowledge
