Overview
Perform a variety of mechanical duties to truck and trailer units including diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair, as well as regularly scheduled preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting and general vehicle repair
- Perform preventative maintenance services and maintenance related work as required
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
- Manage work orders and assist in cost tracking, invoice reconciliation and third party repair pricing
- Manage and report on fleet health, truck downtime and upcoming repairs
- Maintain a functional shop, equipped with the necessary stock parts to keep trucks mobile
- Discuss budget and needs with managers
- Work in compliance with Company Health and Safety policies and OHSA standard
- Keep neat and organized records of services and work in process
Qualifications
- Have a safety mindset and willing to comply to the standards and procedures of Lafarge Safety Policies
- Must have a valid Truck and Coach (310T) License
- A valid DZ Drivers License
- Must possess own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
- Ready mix experience with London and McNelius mixers an asset
- Welding and Hydraulic systems experience and asset
- Experience with Theam/Ready mix concrete conveyors an asset
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Fleet Experience Preferred
- Computer knowledge utilizing email and Microsoft Excel is considered an asset
- Must be organized and willing to exhibit good housekeeping practices in the Lafarge shop
