General Statement of Duties:

The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support the R&D and Operations teams in the design, development, and testing of innovative oilfield equipment. Reporting to the R&D Engineering Manager, this role is ideal for a developing engineer who seeks to gain experience in both design and practical implementation. The Junior Engineer will contribute to mechanical designs, assist in testing, and work closely with senior engineers on various projects.

Required Skills / Expertise:

Summary of duties (duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

Assist in the design and development of new downhole tools and hydraulic fracturing and completions equipment, providing SolidWorks models and drawings.

Support senior engineers by conducting testing and validation of designs, participating in shop and field-testing activities.

Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.

Contribute to the development of assembly and operations manuals, ensuring that products are clearly documented for manufacturing and field use.

Research new technologies and contribute to R&D efforts with fresh ideas and creative problem-solving approaches.

Manage design documentation and contribute to the document control process for new and existing designs.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with FEA principles.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges methodically and creatively.

Hands-on experience with testing equipment and supporting validation activities.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

3+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.

Experience in oilfield or hydraulic fracturing and completions equipment design is an asset.

Desire to grow in a fast-paced engineering environment and contribute to R&D efforts.
