People and Culture Assistant - Hybrid

Right now, we are looking to hire a People and Culture Assistant to join our team, based out of our Calgary office. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about fostering a positive work environment.
AS OUR PEOPLE & CULTURE ASSISTANT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO:
- Provide administrative support to the People & Culture team with all their project initiatives and onboarding of new hires, including conducting new employee reviews.
- Coordinate routine employment changes and associated documentation, including transitioning employees to contractors and processing internal changes.
- Enter employee data and changes into the HRIS system, ensuring integrity of HR data and consistency between systems.
- Support learning and development initiatives for the organization.
- Assist in administering the organization’s apprenticeship programs, including assisting employees through the apprenticeship journey and seeking opportunities for the company to indenture new talent into the trades.
- Administer the employee referral program to effectively promote opportunities through our current employee base; track employee referral bonuses for payment.
- Conduct exit interviews with all employees offboarding.
- Participate in recruitment and employment events, as required.
- Contribute to the development of documentation, templates and reports to support the People & Culture function.
- Continually look for ways to optimize and improve talent acquisition and human resources processes, programs and policies, in collaboration with the People & Culture team.
- Assist with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding human resources, payroll and employment standards regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar human resources administrative role, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
- Solid expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with HRIS systems is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality.
- Superior attention to detail combined with excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities, manage ambiguity, and collaborate effectively with diverse personalities.
