As a Physicist Ultrasonics you will be responsible for researching and developing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technologies for pipeline inspection, including ultrasound, magnetics, and guided waves. Your primary focus will be leading the development of novel sensor technology, with hands-on involvement in simulation, testing, and prototyping.

As a Physicist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing commercialized pipeline inspection tools.
  • Conducting simulations and advanced modeling of ultrasonic guided waves using specialized software for Finite Element Methods (FEM).
  • Designing and supervising the manufacturing of test pieces for model validation.
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing and testing procedures.
  • Supporting commercial operations by collaborating with business teams and providing technical support.
  • Collaborating with team members across disciplines and departments.
  • Advancing R&D with new sensing and inspection technologies.
  • Conducting hands-on laboratory testing and reporting.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Possess foundational knowledge in acoustics and wave propagation.
  • Be acquainted with simulation and modeling “Finite Element Method (FEM)” preferred
  • Have experience with ANSYS or other multi-physics simulation programs preferred .
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in conducting experiments, data analysis, and interpretation preferred.
  • Be able to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary engineering teams preferred.
  • Have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills for effective presentation and reporting
  • Be proficient in MATLAB or Python preferred.
  • Have knowledge of ultrasonic, and other NDT technologies preferred.
  • Posses experience in non-destructive testing and performing laboratory experiments with ultrasonic transducers preferred.
