What You Will Do:

  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production department.
  • Execute production schedule to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production supervisors and operators to achieve production targets and maintain high levels of quality.
  • Ensure that production processes adhere to established quality standards and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to meet or exceed product quality specifications.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production demands and maintain efficient production flow.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within the production department, implementing best practices, lean methodologies, and automation to enhance productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process changes to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising employee safety and product quality.
  • Other duties as required

Position Details:

  • Working at the South Edmonton Sucker Rod facility
  • Permanent
  • Full-time
  • Permanent afternoon shift schedule (3:30 pm to 11:30 pm)

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production supervision or manufacturing leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills

Physical Demands

  • Pre-employment testing including drug & alcohol, vision, auditory, background check and physical demands assessment required upon hire
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours/day

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in manufacturing related discipline
