COMPANY OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Project Coordinator, you will support the project management team and coordinate road construction activities across various residential and commercial projects in Edmonton and surrounding areas. You may oversee entire project scopes or coordinate smaller projects based on project requirements and direction from the Project Manager. This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in road construction while contributing to the successful execution of key projects
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Contribute to the bid process by aiding in proposal writing, information gathering, and assisting with estimating tasks.
Support the estimating team with quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates, schedules, and quantity verifications.
Lead project kick-off activities, including preplanning, schedule submissions, safety plans, eco plans, and quality plans.
Ensure a full understanding of project scope and production schedules, driving efficient project execution.
Coordinate with customers, manage site meetings, resolve disputes, and handle invoicing, collections, and project scheduling.
Collaborate effectively with the project team, overseeing junior coordinators and supporting project staff, as well as working with supervisors and crews to meet project objectives.
Conduct job site verifications, including surveys and plan take-offs, to ensure accuracy.
Ensure project close-out tasks are completed, including documentation handovers and post-construction inspections.
Provide a comprehensive project close-out review to management at the conclusion of each season or project.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Diploma or Degree
Additional Education Preferred: C.E.T designation
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of project coordination and field supervisory experience with Estimating experience.
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Bid2Win estimating software. Strong knowledge of road construction, including paving, sub-grade, gravel base course, concrete construction, and related subcontractor operations.
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel between job sites within the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas
Additional Requirements:
Monitor project costs and financial reports, providing valuable feedback to the operations and estimating teams.
Act as the direct liaison with clients, consultants, and owners to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
Work with the accounting team to meet cash collection and financial targets.
Assist in preparing monthly progress invoices, reviewing accruals, and approving supplier and subcontractor invoices.
For smaller projects, ensure project plans, coding, and locates are distributed to supervisors and crews in a timely manner.
Lead all safety and environmental aspects on projects, ensuring compliance with OH&S and environmental regulations. Promote Lafarge’s safety culture.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
