Shipper/Receiver
Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Arrange for trucking or shipping/receiving services;
- Prepare records of goods shipped and received;
- Use JDE and TAT to record parts shipped and received and look up purchase orders and part locations;
- Ensure orders are correct and ready to be packed and/or shipped;
- Exercise a sense of time, organization and urgency;
- Work with others to ensure products are received and shipped in a timely and efficient manner;
- Inspect and verify outgoing and incoming goods against invoices or other documents;
- Operate forklift and/or loader to load, unload, transport and store goods;
- Conduct daily forklift and/or loader walk-arounds and complete necessary checklists;
- Required to be on-call on a rotational basis on weekends and/or evenings where might be required to work alone;
- Disassemble returned equipment and inspect and record damages;
- Able to work in all-weather yard and shop working environments;
- Able to occasionally work from heights using a ladder;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):
- High school or equivalent required;
- Forklift & Crane certification is considered an asset; however, in-house training is available if required;
- Knowledge and experience with warehousing and industrial equipment an asset;
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Technical Requirements (Software or Program Knowledge Needed):
- Microsoft Office application knowledge an asset;
- Databases knowledge an asset.

HSE Requirements (Training and Physical Ability Needs):
- Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes);
- Squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA);
- PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses and steel toed boots;
- New hire employee HSE orientation;
- Material Handling procedure NQI-1022 training;
- NOV in-house forklift and overhead/jib training if required;
- WHMIS training.
