Our Vancouver Road Construction Team is seeking a Skid Steer Operator, with milling experience, to perform the following:
Responsibilities:
• Fully trained in the operations and capability of a front end wheel loader
• Assist the milling and paving crews with the daily operations and project requirements.
• May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting
• Assist with a variety of job operations
• Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment
• Responsible for completing daily equipment checklist
• Monitoring and ensuring accurate weights
• Monitor material production within specifications
• Create an atmosphere of teamwork
• Seek out and implement Best Practices
Safety & Enviornment:
• Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided
• All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)
Maintenance:
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on their skid steer loader including, includes washing and cleaning the operator’s cab inside and out, greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters, and maintaining all fluid levels
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc.; complete proof of regular service may be required
Qualifications:
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Min 2 years of experience operating a Skid Steer
• Mechanically Inclined
• Ability to read survey markings.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
