Sr. Data & Analytics Specialist

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Data and Analytics, the Sr. Data & Analytics Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytical solutions to support business decision-making. This role involves a blend of data engineering, data science and analytical skills to ensure data quality, accessibility, and actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business leads, other internal IT teams and data analysts to understand requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
• Develop and maintain scalable data and analytics solutions that align with business, technical and enterprise architecture objectives.
• Participate in the technical implementation of data & analytics solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, timeliness and performance.
• Design and Implement Data Pipelines: Create scalable and efficient data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, PySpark notebooks, Spark SQL, and Python. This includes data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes
• ETL Processes: Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from diverse sources, transform it into suitable formats, and load it into data warehouses or analytical systems
• Implement and optimize semantic models to enhance data accessibility and performance.
• Design, implement, and optimize AI/ML models to address business challenges and improve decision-making processes.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data engineering, AI/ML and cloud platforms to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
• Monitor and fine-tune the data platform to enhance performance and efficiency, especially for large-scale data sets
• Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes and maintaining high levels of system reliability and user satisfaction.
• Ensure Compliance and Standardization in Reporting: Implement and follow governance policies and standards for reporting and analytics throughout the analytics process
• Mentor and guide junior team members in best practices and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years proven experience
• Cloud Solutions Expert, experienced with tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, API’s and Power BI.
• Proficiency in creating complex data models and generating reports using Power BI.
• Strong SQL and database management skills.
• Big Data Tools, expert at scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Apache Spark, MLFlow) for automation, ETL and integrations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
• Ability to manage priorities through demand planning
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions, meeting timelines
