ABOUT THE ROLE
Lafarge Canada Inc is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for the construction industry and has an immediate opportunity at our Saskatoon Cement Terminal for a Terminal Operator.
The ideal candidate will operate and maintain terminal equipment with a focus on bulk truck loading and bulk rail car unloading with associated administration reporting functions; all while maintaining high safety and quality assurance standards. To be successful you will be comfortable with outdoor working conditions with higher percentage of physicality to the role. Operation, equipment and safety training will be provided as required.
The position is for full time seasonal generally April to December and depending on sales could evolve to a full time position should the need arise.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma
Additional Education Preferred: postsecondary/trade school completion/classes
Required Work Experience: Terminal operator or similar position
Required Training/Certifications: Heavy equipment tickets preferred
Required Technical Skills: Excel, Word programs a benefit
Additional Requirements:
Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Lafarge Canada Inc’s safety and environmental policies
Unload bulk railcars and load bulk semi-trucks as needed
Operation and daily maintenance of rail unloading and bulk truck loading equipment
Operate a forklift to load and unload packaged cement
Supervise and direct contractors on site, when required
Supervision and direction of truck/railway carriers’ activities on site
Participate in shared inventory control
General labour related duties and cleanup
Terminal Housekeeping
Physically fit to encompass labour requirements of role
Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
Able to lift 55 lbs
Valid class 5 driver’s license
Understanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge an asset
Other associated duties that the employee is trained in-house or by requirement for
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
