
Thermal Design Engineering

We are seeking a Thermal Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and play a key role in advancing thermal design excellence for critical industrial applications.
This is a senior role that blends deep technical expertise with leadership, ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on problem-solving, mentoring, and driving innovation in heat transfer design.
What You’ll Do
As a Thermal Design Engineer, you will:
- Lead thermal and mechanical design of air coolers, shell & tube heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, and sulfur condensers.
- Perform thermal and vibration analyses, ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications.
- Review, check, and approve engineering work—providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Support proposals by preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and technical input during bid stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Business Development) to align solutions with project and client goals.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Stamp/sign deliverables as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, leveraging digital tools, and embedding energy efficiency and sustainability in design.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- 10–15 years’ experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
- Proficiency with HTRI software and proven expertise in thermal analysis & vibration.
- Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design codes (ASME, API, ABSA).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Assets
- Active P.Eng. designation.
- Structural engineering experience.
