Job SummaryThe Product Specialist is a key member of the Product Strategy Team. A strong collaborator and action-oriented critical thinker who is primarily responsible for cross-functional planning, execution, and management of product development projects to drive commercialization of new or improved technology.&nbsp; Key areas of responsibility&nbsp;Idea Evaluation:<ul><li>Review and respond to product development or improvement requests from sales teams and other internal stakeholders.</li><li>Evaluate new product development opportunities, including:<ul><li>Market and competitive landscape analysis</li><li>Review product positioning with Sales teams to assess market and customer interest.</li><li>Work with Customers, Sales, and Engineering to develop a Statement of Requirements, timeline, and cost estimate for development work.</li><li>Support preparation of financial analysis, including forecasts of commercial cost and pricing&nbsp;</li><li>Flag and review potential intellectual property opportunities and risks with IP team.</li></ul></li><li>Support PLM in preparing and presenting product development opportunities for approval.&nbsp;</li></ul>Product Development:<ul><li>Conduct kick-off meeting with Engineering, participate in Design reviews, ensure engineering and testing meets customer requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Attend Sales and Customer meetings to maintain alignment of projects with ongoing customer and market needs.</li></ul>Field Trials:<ul><li>Coordinate and approve field trial plan in collaboration with Engineering and Technical Services teams.&nbsp;</li><li>Together with Sales, Ops, and Technical Services teams, ensure field trials are executed according to plan.</li><li>Recommend commercial launch based on successful field trial execution.</li></ul>Product Launch:<ul><li>Collaborate with all pertinent business units to ensure product readiness for commercialization (manufacturing, sales, marketing, operations, engineering, TS, IP, Legal, BI, HS&amp;E)</li><li>New Product support for Sales, Operations and Technical Services</li><li>Creating operational Risk &amp; Contingency Matrices for new or modified product offerings</li><li>Prototype inventory management and managing eventual inventory hand over to Operations.&nbsp;</li></ul>Commercial Performance Monitoring of Existing Products:<ul><li>Generate technical reviews, pre &amp; post-job analysis, product performance reports and case studies.</li><li>Work with Business Intelligence team to run analytics on product performance.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure a smooth and timely passage of information between the customer, Sales, Operations, Technical Services, Engineering, and Supply Chain</li><li>Monitor competitive landscape and customer adoption, support Marketing and IP Strategy&nbsp;</li></ul>Internal Resource Support:<ul><li>Provide customer support to sales team in technical meetings, facility tours, joint development discussions, negotiation meetings.</li><li>Understanding and interpreting codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO and API)</li><li>Presenting product management related materials to small and large groups</li><li>Assist in the creation of new internal and external marketing and training materials as necessary.</li><li>Perform internal training sessions for new products and services.</li><li>Propose and write industry SPE papers and represent the product perspective technical conferences.</li></ul>Other:<ul><li>Help to promote safe work practices and higher standards of performance.</li><li>Support and uphold HS&amp;E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer.&nbsp;</li><li>Align&nbsp;individual goals with NCS’s corporate goals, while adhering to and promoting the NCS Promise</li><li>Participate in Personal Development for Success (PDS)</li><li>Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent determination by hiring manager.</li><li>Industry experience and technical background with coiled tubing service tools, stimulation methods, and downhole flow control; required.</li><li>Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) status, registered with A.P.E.G.A considered an asset.</li><li>Product and/or Project management training and certification; asset</li><li>Experience working with data visualization software, project management systems, and modeling software (e.g. performing Torque and Drag models and Tubing Force Analysis (TFA), asset.&nbsp;</li><li>International or offshore operations experience; asset</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites</li><li>Organizational skills, with ability to independently prioritize work.&nbsp;</li><li>Work with other teams and exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficient in data analytics, group presentations, and root cause analysis (RCA)</li><li>Hands - on approach to problem solving and design.</li><li>High level of efficiency &amp; work ethic, specific attention to details</li></ul>Additional Information<ul><li>Status: Overtime Exempt</li><li>Employment Classification: Full-time, Regular</li><li>Work Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with on-call 24/7 for technical reference</li><li>Special Equipment: Cellphone or E-Sim, Laptop</li><li>Bonus Eligibility: Eligible</li><li>Travel: field work, domestic and international travel maybe required</li><li>Criminal background&nbsp;check required for all positions.</li><li>Safety sensitive positions will require additional pre-employment testing.</li></ul>
