POSITION SUMMARYThe Estimator leads in the development of an overall strategy and assists with the execution plan. Responsibilities include preparing bids, requests for quotes, quantitative take offs, preparation of tender submissions, pre-construction conceptual estimates, and project schedules.&nbsp; The Estimator works with the execution teams to collect and analyze ongoing benchmarking information.Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES&nbsp;<ul><li>Maintain bid documents records of receipt and distribution</li><li>Review, analyze and check for completeness of bid documents</li><li>Summarize quantities and prepare spreadsheets for alternate and separate prices as required for tenders</li><li>Maintain electronic and paper filing system for all bids and proposals</li><li>Obtain, review and compile subcontractor quotations.&nbsp; Advise of changes in subcontractor information for file update</li><li>Prepare bid sheets on specialty subcontractors</li><li>Prepare initial cost summary for project</li><li>Attend project start up meetings with the area manager as required</li><li>Quantify take-offs of direct work items for tender submissions and for sub-trade work as required for conceptual estimate submissions</li><li>Assist with tender closing and delivery of tenders as required</li><li>Query consultants as required to resolve ambiguities/errors/omissions in tender documents prior to tender closing</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSEducation&nbsp;<ul><li>Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree (i.e. business administration, trade certificate) is preferred</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Five years’ experience in oil and gas construction industry with hands-on experience</li></ul>Knowledge &amp; Skills<ul><li>Exceptional understanding of the disciplines and cycles relevant to construction projects</li><li>Experience in producing both small and large plant facility cost estimates and plans</li><li>Proficient computer skills, particularly with industry standard estimating software, as well as MS Excel and MS Project</li><li>Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills</li><li>Participate in and facilitate group meetings</li><li>Professional verbal and communication skills</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li>Meticulous record-keeping skills</li><li>Capable of working independently with minimal direction</li><li>Possesses an eye for detail</li><li>Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment</li></ul>Why work for Strike:Based in Western Canada with a head office in Calgary, Alberta, we provide energy and industrial construction and maintenance services across the largest geographical area in Canada.At Strike, we continuously demonstrate leadership, drive, creativity, and initiative. POSITION SUMMARYStrike is looking for a Project Coordinator to support our day-to-day operations in Rainbow Lake, AB.
