Overview

The Aggregate Quality Control (QC) Technician’s goal is to ensuring the highest customer satisfaction for the products.  Areas of responsibilities include the QC testing of limestone products and ensuring processes are controlled during production, stockpiling and loading of limestone products in our Stonewall Quarry.

Responsibilities:

Quality control of limestone aggregate, through the active testing of finished goods

Interpret and communicate all test results to QC Supervisor and Production in a timely manner 

Ability to multi-task within business unit, flexible with regard to hours of work and responsibilities.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Logistics, Production and Sales

Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and lab

Performs additional duties as assigned

Safety and Environment:

Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided  

Assist operations in the support and implementation of safety protocols

Enforce safety on the work site (haulers, visitors, and plant crew)

Identify and report workplace hazards and make positive suggestions for their elimination or control

Required PPE must be worn at all time

Qualifications

Education:   

Grade 12 or equivalent

CCiL Technician Certificate would be an asset

Knowledge & Skills:

Able to understand and work with QC lab equipment 

Works well in a team environment.

Excellent communication and leadership skills. 

Able to handle difficult issues in a positive way. 

Organized self-starter and can work independently.

Strives for continuous improvement.  

Strong problem solving

Excellent time management skills

Requirements:  

Valid Driver’s License

Own transportation – must be reliable 

Full-time hours with some OT

Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs

Employment term: 

This is a seasonal position running between March to October. 

As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
