Master Flo Valve Inc. is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Commercial Manager to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This pivotal role requires a background in inside sales, project management, and commercial contracts, along with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles. The ideal candidate will combine technical acumen with commercial insight to ensure successful project delivery from concept to completion. This position reports to the Director of Proposals and Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Use product knowledge to provide technical guidance and support to the Proposals and Project Management Team and Regional Offices staff.
  • Support Inside Sales staff to ensure proposals are technically and commercially compliant, competitively priced and meet delivery requirements.
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments to identify potential problem areas and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Responsible to monitor the more complex orders and their contractual commitments made to our customers.
  • Support with monthly product margin review.
  • Assist with the review of customers’ terms and conditions.
  • Assist with the issuance of bank guarantees.
  • Lead the development, creation and implementation of productivity tools, processes and applications.
  • Assist with completion of customers’ AVL pre-qualification requests/questionnaires.
  • Point contact and liaison with Legal for the maintenance of Master Flo Valve’s trademarks.
  • Maintain a strong project monitoring process to ensure projects meet company commitments to customers.
  • Manage process improvement projects across departmental boundaries, leading the cross-functional team assigned to those projects.
  • Facilitate team collaboration and communication across departments.
  • Ensure team’s adherence to procedures and process standards.
  • Resolve or escalate internal or customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Other duties that may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a technical field, Engineering preferred. Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • 2 - 5 years of management experience in a rigorous and detail-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of order processing in a manufacturing environment (oil and gas industry preferred).
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills required.
  • Valve sales experience will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate verbally or in writing with high and equal effectiveness.
  • Able to provide leadership, coordination, guidance and drive issues resolution.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
